Be Still & Know: Encouragement from Karen Pulley

“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” (Psalm 46:10)

Dear ladies,

Are your hearts anxious and troubled by what you see happening around the world, specifically in Israel? Are you burdened by the cares of your own family or the difficulties your loved ones are facing?

If so, please read Psalm 27, Psalm 91, and Zephaniah 3.

Yes, there may be much evil and fear all around us, but those who know Jesus can be assured we are safe in His hands. The evil one cannot touch us. Right now we are seeing our Bibles come to pass before our very eyes. The Bible has already warned us in the last days Israel would be front and center, holding everyone’s attention. But if you look at history, God has always been faithful to defend His people. He defended the Jews whether they deserved it or not. He is a gracious and merciful God.

Like America, Israel has become very secular and worldly. Their misplaced trust is in their military, much like our own country. We know, however, our hope is found in Him alone and not in our military, government, or anything else. How we need to cry out to God!

Now more than ever, I encourage you to follow along with the Women’s Bible Study. The book of Acts is more applicable to our days than ever! We recently studied the account of the lame man who was healed (chapter 3). God did not pass by the beggar but sent Peter to give him the greatest gift: healing found in the name of Jesus.

What price would you place on healing in order to have peace and joy? What price would you place on eternal life? In Jesus, we have been given the most priceless gift of all! We should be even more grateful than this man who went about walking, leaping, and praising God!

As we watch the news in view of the above mentioned Scripture passages, may we turn our worries, fears, and anxieties into prayers as we remember to rejoice in the God of our salvation, knowing He is the same faithful, gracious, and merciful God today as He was then.

“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:4-7)

We would see Jesus,

Karen Pulley
